Markup on 4x6 prints done online
Dec 10, 2011

Greets to all! Have searched the web and forum for this - nothing useful found so far.

So - when you order prints (casual/candid portrait work) online from say Snapfish or Mpix - how much do you mark up a 4x6? The prices on these run from 19 cents to 30 cents... If I print 8 on a 13-19 sheet on an Epson 3800, the material cost would be close to 90 cents each.

I do a good job in preping the images for print, so the results from the 'drug store' processing was good and matched my monitor image. Now the question is how much to mark up a 28 cent (Mpix) print?

There is labor involved in processing the order - finding the images in LR, any final PP, then handing the order sizing and quantities... and then delivery. All this does take time - don't think it should be free.

What do you do?
