Perhaps the cheapest way to view 3D on a laptop ( though anaglyph only ) is Cyberlink's PowerDVD 11 programme.

Viewing anaglyph 3D ( red/blue ) is not the greatest method obviously, but even though I have a 3D TV, I can say that PowerDVD does give surprisingly good viewing and better by far than I have had using Youtube, aside from PowerDVD's only having the option of Dubois ( or similar process ) colour rendering, that reduces the intensity of red content to avoid colour conflict between left and right images.

Check out these images to see how good anaglyphs can look, to get a rough idea of how PowerDVD 11 performs, using only 1950's type specs but with this century's perfectly aligned digital images .
