that's what i was getting at - even if you're looking for old MF and are willing to use an adaptor, you're STILL looking for a focal length of well-under-17mm (and the focal length is a physical property of a lens, completely unrelated to sensor / film size).

even though your 17-50 is the 35mm-equiv of 28-80, it's STILL a 17mm-to-50mm lens, so to go wider you really need a 16mm-or-shorter lens. period.

VERY few under-17mm lenses made in the old MF days, and the few that WERE made were likely VERY expensive due to the more specialized shaping of the lens elements.

much more effective to try to score a used canon 10-22 (i still can't believe i got one for $480), or a used tamron 10-24 / sigma 10-20, and just accept some of their image quality limitations and asking price. maybe sell the 17-50 to help fund this move, and obviously keep the 50/1.8 if you get any of those 10-2X lenses.
