... most likely, i'd actually split it into 70-200/4L IS for the more reasonable carry and lower entry price, and really "go big" (literally) with a 200/2L IS. i do like the 2.8L IS II and it handles a bit nicer and the IS is a touch better, but i think that 80% of the time the 4 would be more than enough and easier to tote. which is part of the reason i didn't jump all over that recent $1974 price deal.

and the 200/2 would just totally leap-frog over the 2.8 II in every way. cost of admission is a bit higher, though... but, if you have the money for the 2.8 II, then you probably can get the money for the 2.
