I can only answer you in general terms, because I don't have the exact Panny set up you mention.

I have K5 and 55~300, and a G1 and the two 'kit' lenses, the longer of which is the 45~200.

Generally, the K5 is a better (subjective I know) camera by a long way.

And the 55~300 is a better lens than the Panny long kit.

This image of a young Powerful Owl taken with the K5 combination is very heavily cropped, and because the light was difficult it's also been subject to some quite serious pp.

I couldn't have got a similar result with my Panny set up.

Where the G1 does score is its ability to use legacy lenses from other manufacturers.

The second image uses a Leitz 500 MR, and isn't cropped.

I've just come back from a trip to Japan, and am quite convinced that the K5 is the best DSLR I've ever used.
