Which TZ?

So I was thinking of getting my father a TZ. It's compact (he'll use a pouch/bag anyway, so no need for "pocketable"), nice zoom, and a very good lens. Easy to operate and tops compared reviews frequently.
Question is: which one.

He doesn't need GPS, it's a nice bonus but not mandatory. Touchscreen and display quality is pretty low in his priorities either- he uses the display for framing only, as his eyesight doesn't allow for more- that's why a mode dial is a must. He doesn't carry spare batteries and get's really angry when electronic devices have low battery life. Also, he hardly post-processes pictures. Tone, WB, and cropping max.

So, with AA filters, and MP races considered, what's the best TZ regarding IQ? I often read it's the TZ7.
