Totally agree, especially when you have good photos to look at!
I like the Apple TV but find it too underpowered as a full fledged media device (no 1080p for example). For photos and lower res movies however it's good. Just a bit difficult to connect up if you aren't using itunes.
That aside it's a fantastic device for this purpose and at 99 bucks you can't really go wrong.
