Looking for wireless preview/review from 5DII and iPad 2
Nov 27, 2011

I'd love to lose the wires in a shoot... and be able to take my camera off-tripod, and move around...without being tethered to a laptop or ipad.

Looks like the two options are the Canon wft-e4 for about $850 or an Eye-fi sd card for $100. The latter option requires a CF card adapter that may impair or impede the functionality and is not supported by Eye-fi...

... though clearly people are using this workaround. and ShutterSnitch, a reputable iPad app, clearly sees it as an option to bring 5DII users into their fold

Can users here verify that the combo is workable, and recommend a CF card adapter?

After some research, is sounds like both (with the Eye-fi firmware upgrade) can communicate direct to iPad without a wireless LAN, but both have greater speed if using a LAN. It would be great to hear feedback on that too.

Also, it looks like Eye-fi requires a custom setup for Airport Extreme LANs that would require reconfiguring most existing default setups?

Thanks!
Dave
