Close-call with the CZ135 f/1.8
Nov 27, 2011

I dropped a lens for the first time today. It was the Carl Zeiss 135mm f/1.8 and it dropped about two feet on to cement. The hood was attached in reverse, and I think this was the first point of impact and what saved it. The only noticeable damage was the two chips in the metal as shown below, and the lens seems to work fine. But I never want to hear that sound of lens on cement again! I thought it was all over for a second.
So I was wondering who else has dropped one of their high-grade lenses, and what was the highest fall you've had where the lens survived?
