Fujifilm X10 advanced controls

Hi All,
I was Canon dSLR owner for many years and just got my X10 few days ago as a complementary point and shoot camera for every day use.
I must say that it's not that easy to "downgrade" yourself with such toy, but I think that its a matter of getting used to new camera. Also, all the variety of modes, controls and internal post processing options in this camera are a bit confusing. And as you know, the manual is not so descriptive..
So, I have a few advanced controls questions that I couldn't find answers to in the manual:
1. There is a "Quick Startup Mode" On/Off option available in the settings. Do you know what is the difference between the two options?
2. Same question about "IS Mode". What does all the 4 options mean here?
3. What does "Dynamic Range" DR100%, DR200% and DR400% options mean?
I'd like also be happy to hear what are your default preferences for these 3 mentioned above controls.
Thanks,
David.
