I have the 190XPROB, with 804RC2 Pan-Tilt head. This works well in 95% of the cases when I am not using a heavy len like my all metal 105mm macro. However, I was once out in the open on a very windy day (gusts of 70km/h) and I did not get many good shots. That maybe a little extreme for most, but you get the point.

I am also finding that 190 series a little short, and I am only 5'8". I bought my set up when I only had a bridge camera, and it costed more than half of what I paid for the camera itself.

Another rule of thumb that I have heard of is that the tripod set-up should cost about the same as a decent lens. If you have the D7000, then that would probably be in the 600-800 range, It seems a lot now, but you probably won't think that way 10-15 years down the road.

Shopping for gear is at least half the fun, no?
