Whats wrong with this picture?

I shot this while exploring slot canyons in Page, Arizona. This is at the end of a canyon that has not quite formed a slot.

I love the structure of the rock with the top hardpan, hole, bridge, bowl, chute and plunge pool!

It is a 9 shot panoramic assembled in photoshop. The original is about 50 megapixel. f/5.6, ISO 200, 1/100th shot at dusk.

But... the picture just doesn't have any sparkle. What is wrong?

In contrast, here's another shot I took earlier in the day in one of the slots.
