D90 meter sleep problems with Sigma Lenses?
Nov 20, 2011

Hoping to get some clarity from others on a new problem (I just noticed) with my D90. I have a Sigma 18-50 2.8-4 OS lens that I use as a "walk around" lens. My concern is that the D90 meter does NOT go to sleep with this particular lens attached. The green led info. in the viewfinder will not shut off unless I turn off the camera. In my Custom Settings I have is set to sleep at 6 seconds. I tried the "two green dot reset" and even reset the Custom Settings to try and fix the problem, but no matter - it still won't work.

Obviously this issue can ruin my day if I am out and about with the camera on. I am wondering if this is an issue with my Sigma Lens or with the D90 body? Anybody else experience this? Just wondering if I need to forgo that low cost Sigma zoom for something else or send my camera in?

Thanks

Nikon D90
