Do "L" lenes cheat on shutter speed?
Nov 20, 2011

Not sure what to make of this, but shot my 50mm F1.4 and my 85LII at the same subject, same light, same focal length (I compensated for the FL by getting a little closer to the subject) and found that the L shot a higher ISO and a faster shutter, where the 50 1.4 shot half the ISO higher and half the shutter. Has anyone else noticed this? I like the L with this higher shutter speed, but why wouldn't they shoot the same specs given the same framing? I was shooting AV mode.
