FZ150 and bounce flash

I own both Nikon DSLR stuff and a FZ28. I use the FZ a lot outdoors and tend to take it with me more than the Nikon bag because it has sufficient IQ in good light and is small and light. Indoors I grab my D50 with a SB600 on board and bounce the flash off of a wall or ceiling because I like the nice diffused light it gives me. My question is will the FZ150 with a ttl flash give me the same kind of results? Does the assist light on the dedicated flashes help focus speed and will it work at least as well as my ancient D50/SB600 combo? I haven't seen a lot of discussion regarding external flashes on the few Fzs that accept them.
