NEC wide gamut quandry
Nov 16, 2011
|
I got a wide gamut NEC monitor last week and since then I've been unable to post process an image so as to obtain an acceptable print. The monitor of course has no effect on the printer, but I cannot process an image on the monitor and get a good print. I was having very good success doing that with my old monitor, using a monitor profile created with DisplaycalGUI and my old Monaco EZ Color puck.
With the wide gamut NEC, the reds in prints end up flat and dull, with a magenta cast to them. Photoshop's Proof Colors show the same thing. Blues and grees are also effected, but the reds are the worst.
I print frrom QImage and use the profiles for my Canon i9900.
Anyone have any suggestions?
