Canon EF 70-200 F/2.8 IS USM - Newer or Previous Version?
Nov 15, 2011

I have a 60D that I love with several Tamron lenses I use for landscapes, car shows, car races, family events and vacation photography.

I am serious about learning and improving and have come to the point where I think I need to move to higher end glass. Nothing against my current lenses, but I think I can improve my captures in many cases.

My first purchase is focused on the Canon EF 70-200 F2.8 IS USM lenses.

I know version II has improvements over the previous version.

My question: Will I notice the difference between the two? Should I pay the extra $s and go with the newer lens?

I know that is sort of an open ended question. I am not a person that is into the specs, I am after the image and just want good equipment, so I can focus on content.

Opinions appreciated.
