The quality of the photos is fine. I guess the "subject" doesn't turn people on. I take it you used the HDR mode in which the A77 applies some kind of tone mapping.

Correct Tom, these were done with "in camera" HDR at 3 stop differential.

I am quite pleased with the results. These are all hand held too as I was short on time (had someone with me waiting) as otherwise I would definitely try to use a tripod for such subjects and take more time with composure and DOF too. I just had a few moments to grab what I could but that said, am pleased. (I'm in the truck industry ad this was at one of my customers in Pennsylvania who intends to restore this old truck possibly in the future.)
