It sounds as if Lightroom is reducing the resolution of the image when exporting it, especially if you have chosen the "For E-Mail" LR preset.

Have a look at the "Image Sizing" section of the Export dialogue before exporting. This section controls the image resolution.

I suggest that you try settings as follows:
Width: 2000 pixels (reduce if your file size is too big)
Height: 2000 pixels (doesn't really matter since the width is the key number)
Resize to fit: Tick box and select "Long Edge"
Don't Enlarge: untick (doesn't really matter)

Resolution: 72PPI (this is display resolution only and is ignored by most programs)

This should give you a file that is 2000 pixels wide and something like 500-800 pixels high depending on how you combined the images for the panorama.

Use the Quality slider in the File Settings section to control the file size in MB for e-mailing. You can certainly go down to 50%.
