What gives when emailing a panorama?

I used Photoshop to create a panorama from 3 images. When I email the panorama in LR with quality at 90% and 240 dpi, the sent email is poor quality. If I send one of the images from the panorama, it comes through fine. I've done this twice with the same results. If I put the panorama on a travel drive and open it in a second computer it also looks good.
Any thoughts on why a panorama would have trouble being emailed?
