what is different in cinematic lenses from still camera lenses

Seeing the emergence of so called cinematic lenses (eg recent news item on this site) which can be used on still cameras such as 5D mk2 etc etc, I am interested in what lens properties are used to determine what makes it cinematic as opposed to still? (Apart from the obvious mounting differences) Also what is the "T" value which is often quoted for these?
