Pentax vs. Rodenstock

This afternoon I drove my friend, who is also a pentax user, to buy a new pair of glasses. yes, he bought a Rodenstock eyeglasses. and then we have a chat about Rodenstock lenses for large format cameras. and then we wonder, which one has better optic technology? and whether it is necessary for pentax to establish a joint research with a great lens manufacturer like Rodenstock to produce more superior optics?

I personally think that such a joint research, not only for lenses but any other parts, would be beneficial for both brands. what do you think guys?
