Ana,

You say you have one 3rd-party battery. Did you also get a 3rd-Party battery charger? Some of these have 12V inputs to charge off a car and you can get 12V solar panels for less than $50 that can charge the 60D's battery. Outside of the camera, of course. You can't charge the 60D through its USB port.

My concern with taking enough charged batteries to last a week is that you're going into very cold weather for a prolonged period. That's something batteries really, really do not like. Putting one battery on charge during the day while using the other has a lot of appeal to my mind.
