Pixma Pro Wireless Adapter

Hello - Has anyone used the silex wireless print server with the pixma pro 9000 mk ii?

I don't have anywhere near my computer to put the printer and would like to turn it into a network printer with this adapter; however, some of the reviews say that people aren't able to see the ink status and other functions of the printer. Anyone have any experience with this adapter? If so, are you satisfied... is there any loss of functionality?
