Canon 60D vs A65 fps
I have a 7D, and occasionally spray with 8FPS, but the previous camera I had was 5FPS... and was more than enough. I tended to run in to more issues where I'd get overexcited and fill the buffer than worry about a difference in frame rate. Filling the buffer is not an issue on the 7D, but my old 30D would be full after 15-20 shots in RAW in quick succession, and that caused issues from time to time. What do you mean by action? The 15-85 is a nice general purpose lens but it may not be a good choice for, say, sports in low light. For that, an appropriate lens is dependant on the lighting conditions and distance from the field; it could be as simple as a 50mm 1.4 (say, indoor volleyball close up), to a 300mm F2.8 (nighttime football).
Other lens options for the Canon? All of these are worth looking at depending on usage and budget:
Tamron/Sigma 17-50mm F2.8
24-105 F4L (you may want something wider to go along, like a 10-22)
10-22 (not by itself)
35mm f1.4L, or 35mm/2
50mm 1.2L, 1.4, or 1.8
85mm 1.2L or 1.8
70-200 F4L or F2.8L
15-85 is a good starting point. If you need more of something (more range, larger aperture), you'll figure it out pretty quickly.
