85mm f/1.8D disassembling ! :(

My 85 had a filter on it (62mm). I needed to take the filter off and found it wouldn't come off no matter what. Felt like stuck in the threads. Decided to screw the hood on top of the filter to get a little more torque (The hood's external diameter is 77mm). As I tried to gently unscrew the hood/filter combo, the lens' front cylinder (the one with "Nikkor 85mm 1.8D" written on it) also rotated and came off with it ... I was able to re-screw it back in place, sort of, but the lens glass elements are now somewhat loose ... This can clearly be heard when I shake the lens. I 'll have to send it to Nikon now for proper reassembly !

So ... don't do what I did !

How do you deal with stuck filters ?
