Rookie Flash Selection
Oct 30, 2011

Although my shooting experience has been short but very sweet [

Recently I took some outdoor family portraits for some family members which was fine, they turned out reasonable and I was happy as were they.

They have now asked that I take some images of their employees at the family business as well as some indoor/outdoor images of both of their business locations. They arn't expecting professional grade work, as I'm not professional, but I want them to be reflectional of what I've learned behind a viewfinder.

I would like to pick up a flash to use mostly on-shoe for portraits and indoor use, I'm not afraid to buy used [FM] or third-party especially as this is my first foray into the non-natural lighting world.

My kit as of current - 500d, 24-105L, Tokina 11-16, 50 1.8, 70-200 2.8

Looking for some advise on a flash that would serve as both a good means to learn and play with as well as perform reasonably for general use.

Budget is ≈

Cheers and thanks in advance!
