Continous high speed shooting appears to have slowed down

Its supposed to hit 9 fps but I only get that speed for a few of frames. It seems that it used to go for a lot more before it began to slow down. I am using the same 8 GB Sandisk Extreme IV cards as before so I'm thinking I must have changed some camera setting to cause this. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for that would cause this problem?
