Ok, so I've gotta ask, because I'm starting to feel like I'm missing something.
The other day while walking through Central Park with my wife and I, I noticed a photographer w/an assistant, shooting a family with direct sun hitting their face (shade was just a few feet away), using one of those Gary Fong diffuser thingies, while standing some 20ft away.
A week later, while at an expo, I noticed an event photographer, shooting with a 70-200mm from some 30ft away also using Gary Fong.
Am I missing something, or do I just have bad luck observing photographers who seem to have little to no concept of how light works?
Or maybe I just have low tolerance for silly products that are brilliantly marketed.
