Advice request for BxW negative scanning

I have Nikon 9000 and 5000 scanners. I want to scan BxW negs (6x7 and 35). I am using Nikon original software. When I use digital ice with BxW neg scanning it makes faces black but with color negs digital ice v useful. Thus I want to know from u all that =

No.1 , is it possible to use Digital Ice w BxW negs for reducing scratches w Nikon software? If, yes, then , how? Does it it really work?

2. If Digital ice w Nikon software is not useable then which software can be used which reduces dust/scratches of BxW scanning in Nikon scanners at the time of scanning so that later spotting is minimised?

3.What about Silverfast and Viewscan softwares? Has any body tried them on Nikon scanners for BxW negs?
