Congrats. The 300 f4L IS is a great little lens.

I do notice though that both of your samples are somewhat backfocused. Can't tell if it's technique (those are Tough AF targets) or if the lens needs MFA. You'd have to do some controlled tests.

For sure, the maple seeds were ridiculous. It was extremely windy and the branch was moving about 3 feet in every direction. I used AI Servo and IS and just tried to follow it, shooting at high speed.
