Are you sure? The 24-70 range goes from WA to short telephoto. That might present a design challenge.

I think that it can. Yes, I know about the 17-55 (and I own it) but the 24-70 has a shallower DOF on FF. This might be the same reason we do not see IS on very fast primes.

Of course, I am just guessing.

BTW, one more reason for IBIS (together with the existing in-lens IS).
