For what it's worth, I did the theoretical exercise of determining what would be the cost of switching system from what Pentax equipment I have, to what I would consider is a comparable (upgraded to new capability of course) Nikon system, with a switch of direction from Prime to Zoom.

What I have: K10D + DA18-55, DA50-200, DA*300, DA70Ltd, DA40Ltd, DA15Ltd, DFA50Macro, M150/3.5, K135/2.5, K28/3.5, K24/2.8, A50/1.7, A35-105/3.5

There is almost no value to selling Pentax K10d. At least here in California, no one is buying Pentax K10d. There is a market for used K-R and K-X, but older Pentax simply don't sell well here in LA area. Not much value in your 18-5 + 50-200 zoom either. Your best lens are the DA300 + DA70ltd + DA40ltd. You can get very high price for these 3 lens selling them on ebay.

Pentax System estimated resale value: approx $3300.

Unfortunately, I think that is wishful thinking. Go to ebay, do an "advance search" on"completed listing" for Pentax K10d and your lens. It sell around $289 - $333.

There are couple pentax K10d + 4-5 lens package asking between $900-$1100, and none of those has any bidder on them.

All in all, if you must switch, you're better off selling piece by piece then selling them as an entire package.

Good Luck. I think it is cheaper or you just to stick with Pentax
