NOT A 1DX THREAD! 5D MK1 flash question

I need a Speedlite to use with my 5D I body - Is there any reason to get the 580EXII over the original with the 5DI body? Recycle time aside.
What about the 430? Aside from the Master / slave function which at present i dont need any reason not to go for a 430?
I need to bounce and I need fill flash probably using on camera.
