tripod collar adapter for Nikon 70-300 VR?

is there such?
i go to ebay and they only have tripod collars for Canon telephoto zooms/prime..
one says inner diameter is 65 and the other one has 72mm inner diameter..

i checked the 70-300mm VR, says diameter is 80mm... would that be the thickest part of the barrel/lens? so the part of the lens nearer the mounting part, should be less than that, right?

question, would the tripod collars i see on ebay (esp. the one that has a 72mm inner diameter) fit my NIkon 70-300mm VR? (was thinking of putting the collar around where the on/off VR switch is located..

too bad i don't have a caliper to at least measure the 70-300 VR's thinnest part of the barrel/lens..
