My worst nightmare realized, dropped my 5D MKII

For over almost 20 years I have used the same camera strap a Tamrac with quick release buckes, never ever have I had any probles with the buckles. To my surprised the buckles are perfect, but the loop from the strap that goes into the metal strap holder on the camera came loose and that is how my camera dropped to the concrete! I held it by the rest of the strap I had on my hand I think this helped brake the fall a bit the noise it made when it hit the ground is one I will not forget!!! I had my EF 27-70 2.8L the lens hood took the blow for the lens, I took some photos soon after all looks okay but should I sent it to Canon for repair? As I can see the metal on the Camera is clearly cracked. Any suggestions please.
