a65 & lenses

Hello,
Please forgive this elementary question, but I am just a beginner.

I am settled on a65, so the question is what lenses should I buy? Is the kit lense worth keeping or should I get the body only?

Also, I would like to shoot wild life (especially, birds), so what are the recommended lenses (sony?, tamron?, sigma?). I am thinking of at least something like 18-? and ?-400.
