Why one should not buy again a Fuji camera
Oct 15, 2011

While I am very happy to own the X100, I cannot be but totally shocked about how Fuji is treating the early adopters that have payed the price of this camera.

The camera is great except the firmware and that should have been fabulous news for Fuji. Software can be improved via updates. But no! That is not what Fuji does! They just focus on new hardware instead of providing real software improvements!

While they did provide an update to the camera firmware, it did solve only a minimal part of the complaint list.

While the company must have spent time and money for the design of the body of the camera, the same cannot be said about the design of the firmware which is badly organized, stupidly structured and overly complicated. Why would Fuji not pay a proper interaction design consulting company to fix this problem (a problem with such an easy solution as an update)?

The problem Fuji will have is that these early adopters will not be early adopters of future Fuji cameras if this is how they are being treated.

Ovidiu, who loves and hates his X100
