Panasonic G3 vs Olympus P3 and related Lenses

I'm looking for a lightweight alternative to my Nikon D300 for everyday use. I’ve decided on the Panasonic G3 over the Olympus P3. The decision was based on the reviews I've seen... but it was close, especially considering Oly history and reputation.
All of that being said, I also read that Olympus lenses have an edge over comparable Panasonic. What is your opinion about using Oly lenses on a Pan G3 body? Does anyone have any experience with this combination? What might I be giving up to cross match?
I’m looking for a large sensor in a small body. Any comment on my choice of cameras?
