Im a newbie! What constitutes a fast lens?
Oct 14, 2011

I am shopping for a lens to take to Disney World at Christmas. I do like the quality the Kit lens(18-55mm) for my a55 has given my pictures. I tried the Tamron 18-270mm and didn't like the quality. Too much chromatic abberrations which the lens from Sony 75-300mm had the same poor quality. I don't think I'm pixel peeping because I see this on a 19" screen when viewing the photo on my computer. I just want a good quality lens that is fast and has a good quality at low light and a decent focal length to zoom when needed. I am not sure how much zoom I need. I went back to look at my recent pictures from Disney with a P&S and noticed about 85% are portraits or group shots but with this new camera I am taking a lot more pictures of the world we live in and not just my family. Please help with any thoughts you may have.

Thank you
Gary
