D7000 battery drainage

Hi all,

has anyone experienced issues with EN~EL15 [genuine Nikon version] in D7000? Battery does not to seem to hold charge for very long, when left switched on it tends to go flat within few hours. I am trying to establish whether the problem is in the D7000 itself or it simply came with a faulty battery in the box. I hope it is the latter.
