HDR photos
Oct 10, 2011

I began taking bracketed photos during a recent vacation trip, but found when I used CS5 to combine them the results were disappointing - very little range and little or no "punch" in the results no matter how I tried to adjust them.

I began downloading and trying various HDR specific apps (Photomatrix Essentials, HDR Express and Dynamic Photo HDR) and they seemed to work better, but thought I would ask the forum readers what software was really good for HDR photos. I already have way too much trial software on my system and I don't really need any more ...

Here are some of my photos and the results:

1) exposure bracketed photos from St Louis

The result using CS5. The photo just does not have any zip to it.

The result using Photomatrix Essentials (as you can see this is the trial version). This seems better, but there are so many products out there that I don't know if there isn't something much better than this.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
