E-P3 fps rate...why?

Was looking for a thread on this but cannot find.

Can anyone explain to me why the flagship camera at $899 has the same meager 3 fps rate as earlier models? The E-PM1 at $400 less has a 5 fps rate? Huh?

What am I missing here? $899 for only 3 fps seems quite poor to me. I know there are plenty of quality features in the E-P3, but the continuous shooting rate is not one of them.
