Canon 17-40L does Yosemite Falls, California (pics)
Oct 4, 2011

Tonight I finally got around to editing photos from July of 2010, when I and two friends traveled to Yosemite Valley to enjoy a few days hiking and climbing. My primary objective was to summit Half Dome, but I decided to warm up first by checking out the view from Yosemite Falls. The path was strenuously steep at points and exposed to sun. Adding to the summer heat was dust from the granite trail that in places had been worn fine as chalk from frequent traffic. At the top was a most beautiful, refreshing cascade of pools deep enough to dive into, spilling over superb vista.

I made the images using only a Canon 40D and 17-40L, but the best tools a landscape photographer can have are his legs and eyes! Many of the images are multi-shot stitches to account for wide scenes or things I planned to print very large. Your questions and comments are welcome!
