Hello Martin,

Just visiting the Canon forum to see how well your "new babies" are behaving. Very good it seems.

The starburst in the highlights is caused by diffraction in the diaphragm blades. Your lens has 8 blades, each one corresponding to one of the rays coming from the highlights. This phenomenon is more evident in small apertures so it is strange that you get it shooting wide open, go you to know
