Compact stand-alone GPS loggers?
Oct 3, 2011

Does anyone have any recommendations for compact GPS loggers? I figure quite a few people around here probably use one.

Bells and whistles are good, but I'm not looking for anything too fancy. The ideal would be small, provide reasonably accurate 3D plots, be easy to charge, and able to run for at least 12 hours without a re-charge (although obviously the longer the better). The intent is to be able to switch it on at the start of each day then just leave it in a pocket until I get home at the end of the day and switch it off. When I get back home, I just want to be able to pull off the log for each day and tag images, plot routes on Google and routine stuff like that. My tagging software supports logs in both GPX and NMEA format.

Of course, any suggestions for other uses for such a unit would be more than welcome!

Thanks,

Andy
