Has anyone tried the new 16-50 f/2.8 yet?

I'm not sure about the release date - seems like the A77s that have been delivered are body only... but, just in case, can anyone share thoughts on the new lens? I've seen the SLRGear review, but am curious if end-users are pleased with the new toy!
