So whose fault is it? And what should I do?

First it was the prerelease firmware. Then it was the inferior JPEG engine. Now it's ACR doing a bad job.
I get to choose between overprocessed jpges with all fine texture removed or images noisy as hell.
I can go up to ISO25600 but everything past ISO400 looks bad.
I get to buy a 24 Mp camera and I'm told that if I resize it to 8-12Mp everything will look OK-ish.
I get to shoot at 12fps but the buffer can hold just one second.
I get fast video AF but only in...
To me, Sony a77 looks like a marketing triumph. Great specs. Big numbers. But it does not make me want to dump my a700, which is sad, because I was fully prepared to do so.
My work requires that I get pictures that look great on screen at 100% so I'm actually considering getting an a850 instead. What do you think?
