shooting in raw

I here shooting in raw is way better for editing your pics. I photoshop all the time. I took some test shots in raw format but when I up load them to my computer I can't even view it on my computer let alone in my ps4. was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. and what r your thoughts on shooting in raw??
