Moonshot to rule them all......This is AWESOME

This is NOT my work, but that of a friend who also happens to use a 5d2.

It is a large image - so be warned, but it is worth it!

This is a 19 mosaic of the moon.

He shot 19 x 15 sec static video clips.

Processed each video (15 secs @25fps = 375 frames) taking only the best frames to give a single image (this is standard practice in planetry imaging to 'beat' the atmospheric conditions).

Then stitched each of the 19 processed tiles in PS, spent ages healing the dust bunnies.

Hehad a bit of chromatic Aberation dis-colourment to deal with & handled this by duplicating the layer, converting one to B&W & the other he just used thecolour data & applied a gaussian blur then recombined the two.

Increased the colour intensity & applied sharpening.

He said it has taken him over 7 hours to process.

He gave me permission to post this as I thought many of you might like to see what the 5d2 can do (attached to a telescope).
